I had a trapped nerve in my neck (uncomfortable pain for approx. 6 days)
I could not get an appointment at my Dr's. My Surgery suggested I go to the walk in Clinic at Crawley Hospital.
On arrival I was informed that I would have a four and half wait.
I waited for approx. an hour and was called in to see a nurse who assessed me. She informed me that I would have to wait the stated time of four and half hours. was was in so much discomfort that I said I had to go home where I could lay down she said she would discharge me and perhaps I should try 111.
I did not realise just how bad things have become with the NHS both in Dr's Surgeries and attending a Hospital!
A very good service, in and out in exactly 1 hour. Only needed to see a triage nurse though, I did hear talk of 4 hour waiting for other patients.
Not enough seating in the waiting area - potential excuse of building works would not be acceptable as temporary stacking chairs could easily have been brought in. Nurses do not call out for patients loudly enough and should stand more centrally (waiting area goes round a corner) so they are visible instead of up a corridor sometimes hidden by waiting patients. However once i was seen, care was first class.
The care and service provided by the centre was really excellent. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient in booking in/out my daughter and the medical staff who looked after her were also friendly and very professional.
The decor and the general environment of the centre could be improved but this no doubt requires funding that probably is not available to the NHS Trust
any negative views that occurred during my visit will almost certainly be solved by the ongoing upgrade work being carried out.
I felt that I was treated as a person that needed advice and care by all staff, Administrative and Medical.
Nurse was very kind had a great bedside manor. Treated me well was genuinely concerned and even rubbed my back. Amazing!
I am always treated with respect, dignity, kindness, understanding of my condition and compassion by the dental staff. Nothing appears to be too much trouble whether it be staff at the centre or treated in my own home. I cannot praise this service highly enough and no, I have not been paid!
Staff have a great sense of humour to help things along but, can be serious when needed.
If you, or someone you know have a disability, no matter how severe, they will always try to find a way to help, if they possibly can.
We are so lucky to have A) This type of service in Haywards Heath and B) The actual staff involved. They are so human and that human touch is so often lacking these days.
my son fracture his arm and after explaining he was due to go away this weekend the senior nurse called to get an appointment for this week so he could get seen and get looked at so he could enjoy his time away.
I think the centre will be better when the building work has finished and the children don't have to sit in the main adult section for a long time.
We were triaged quickly but then left to sit for nearly 3 hours without any update of when we were likely to be seen despite on the board in the childrens waiting room specifying 1hr wait. There was only one other child in the queue in front of us. When we finally did get seen by the doctor we were sent straight off for an xray. We could have had this in the 3 hours we were sitting and waiting and then the doctor would have had the results when he first saw us rather than us having to wait further to be seen again by him. If did seem that the hospital was very short staffed. By the time we left there were four other children who were waiting to see the doctor. You could use a junior doctor for minor cases like ours, which would free up the senior doctor to see the more serious cases. Staff should be coming into the waiting area to check on patients, and provide updates and reasons for the long delay. When we have been here in the past the longest time we have had to wait was 2 hours. We probably would have been better going to Haywards Heath A&E.
